Secondary Window Pannels
Secondary Glazing Pannels come in many various forms and styles. Please see above menus for techinical drawings and more detailed information and the style that best suits you:
Horizontal Secondary Glazing: Our horizontal sliding secondary glazing can be from 400mm to 4900mm wide and between 400mm and 2600mm high and as well as all types of glazzing in aluminium we also can do this in upvc. The panels slide on either wheels or hard wearing nylon skids. In the closed position the panels click and latch onto the outer frame. The secondary comes in white, brown or silver colours as standard, or we can colour it in any of 200+ RAL colours. A wide range glazing is available including double glazed (Heavy Duty system), acoustic and K. Sliding secondary is available with between 2 and 5 panels.Panel size [Please click here for more detail and techinical drawings]
Vertical Secondary Glazing: Ideal for Sash Windows, our vertical sliding (VS) panels are slimline and look great. Our ‘Tilt Back Balanced’ panels tilts in for access to your existing windows and to aid cleaning. We also offer a non-tilting version for situations where the tilt is not required - such as schools. Our most economical VS is the non-balanced, non-tilting panel. Our ‘Heavy Duty’ system can take a double glazed unit for maximum results. [Please click here for more detail and techinical drawings]
Hinged Secondary Glazing: Hinged casement windows allow full and easy access to the outer window. They are neat and unobtrusive with no transoms or mullions to impede the view and will generally provide higher levels of security. This style of secondary glazing is appropriate for doors but there must be clearance for pelmets, curtains and ceiling bulkheads. [Please click here for more details and techinical drawings]
Lift Out Secondary Glazing: Lift out units offer a practical treatment for windows which are rarely used or as side or over lights in combination with other windows. The glazed panel is lifted out of the frame when access is needed for cleaning or maintenance. [Please click here for more detail and techinical drawings]
Fixed Secondary Glazing: Fixed panels are generally used as side or over lights in combination with other windows and are also extensively used to treat curved windows. They should never be applied to a window requiring access for escape purposes. They are also used as observation windows in laboratories, clean rooms, control rooms and recording studios. Shaped / Curved Glazing: Secondary Glazing: Many older buildings have shaped or curved windows and these need to be treated sympathetically. Shaping involves the use of irregular angles and units with more than four sides. It is possible to shape horizontal sliding units, hinged casements, lift out units and fixed panes. Windows with arched heads can be accommodated by vertical sliding units and fixed or hinged casements and bull’s eyes with fixed or Lift out panels. Curving on plan is achieved with fixed panels or hinged casements. [Please click here for more details and techinical drawingsl]
